Welcome Sponsors and supporters to 2016 and to what promises to be an exciting year of growth and change for our Senior Teams (U/16 to A grade) and Junior Teams (U/12 to U/15) at the Avalon Bulldogs Junior Rugby League Football Club. After a hugely successful 2015 season in which we had 7 Teams in Grand finals and successful in winning all 7, the Club is in its strongest position in years with a full complement of Senior Teams. This year we will have a U/16 , U/17, U/19 and A grade. We will also have Teams in every age group in the Juniors U/6 to U/15 with the exception of U/14.
Just a quick note to fill you in on the club’s plans for 2016 and to highlight some of the restructuring our sponsorship packages have undergone during the off season.
Firstly, and building on the successes of our senior grades in the 2015 season, this year will bring new initiatives to our planning and coaching structures that we believe will establish a platform for player development of unprecedented scale on the Northern Beaches.
Although already an immensely close-nit playing group, the appointment of our new Director of Coaching Gavin Sheehan will see our senior and junior players align under one formulated training model, so as to better develop their skill set as well as personal growth and confidence.
Gavin has over 25 years of involvement in the sport of Rugby League and is the current Defensive Coach of the U16s Manly Warringah Sea Eagles Harold Mathews team. His expertise will no doubt be well received and we already appreciate his vision in recognising areas for growth at the club.
All Teams U/12 through to U/19 will train utilising the same skill sets that Gavin has introduced ensuring a seamless transition each year as the boys’ progress through the ranks to A grade. Not only will the players benefit from learning the latest techniques but our Coaches will also increase their level of skills and experience as coaches.
We believe that the complete program we will be introducing is superior to any other Clubs in the Manly Warringah Junior Rugby League District.
A key Theme to support our Family Club Values approach this year will be a focus on the meaning of PRIDE. Pride in our Club, Pride in your Team, Pride in your Team mates, Pride in yourself, Pride in how you play the game - win lose or draw. The logo you see at the top of the page will be on every Club jersey on the right hand shoulder from U/6 through to A grade. You will also see it as a large poster on our Club windows.
Off the field there are also some exciting developments taking place as well, and they are a result of considerable thought from our committee at recent meetings. In realising our position as one of the largest sporting community north of the bends, we have devised a plan that will heighten our community presence and therefore the exposure of our sponsors at public events and to the broader Avalon Bulldogs supporter base.
The Club is proud to announce that it now has its very own App in which it will be able to communicate and interact with it supporter base, players, coaches, support staff, committee members, and most importantly our Sponsors. Now we will be able to seamlessly communicate with our database with a simple and cost effective “push” notification that will pop up on each person’s smart phone that has downloaded the Av Bulldogs App. The App is free and available for both iPhone and android phones. I invite you to download the App today and check it out.
Above all I look forward to another successful year at the Avalon Bulldogs in watching all our players develop not only as fine young rugby league players but also as proud and confident young men.
